Street Racing on the Rise

In recent weeks, police, and unfortunate bystanders of Night city, have noticed a recent influx of street races.

This deadly sport is gaining popularity at tremendous speed with many street gangs. Many have seen it as an alternate way of resolving "turf issues", rather than gunning each other down. Although that doesn't seem to be losing popularity either. As guns seem to be allowed in the races.

Reports from the Denver Insider that reports on the walled off area of Denver states that Car Wars seem to be popular there. Although dwindling fast, as the supply of cars is quickly dwindling.

Still its popularity is quickly gaining momentum with other street gangs across the nation. Police reports state that cars from various "combat zones" in cities across the nation seem to be picking up the pace themselves. This can only lead to helping the "Berlin Wall Project" get under way.

Many instances, cars will come speeding out of the zone, injuring bystanders with random gunfire and car accidents. Explosions seem to be at a minimum, save for exploding cars. Police are questioning a few surviving "racers" as to who organizes these events, in hope to shut it down as quickly as it came, before it becomes a greater problem.

Police are also looking for this car. It has been seen in nearly every race that has left the 'Zone', and has been the cause of many casualties. Gangers and innocents. If you have any information on this mysterious racer, please call 1-800-CRIM-STP

Megatech Armored Van Hijacked by Street Thugs!

An unusual attack of sorts was committed in East Marina on late Tuesday night. The target was obviously a Megatech armored van leaving the companies private dock. Blocks away, the van was ambushed by a mob of street thugs packing heavy equipment. The ambush was obviously a well thought out and elaborate scheme hatched by some brilliant mind, as before a transition could be made, the truck was disabled. However onboard security systems and the Megatech security forces that were in the van fought back, leaving a slew of casualties. The gang suffered substantial casualties as a result, but not before killing the crew of the van.

Crime of this sort isn't very unusual in Night City, but this particular event was odd in it's own way. Just after the Gang (later found out to be a band of the InQuisitors) breached the truck, the gang was attacked by another gang, brutally killing the surviving InQuisitors. Few managed to escape, and many were rushed to Night City Emergency. The truck then escaped from the scene of the crime before police could arrive.

The only witness of the crime quoted, "They seemed a lil confused. The first guys kept talking 'bout retribution in the eyes of god-and then when he looked into the truck, said pretty loud, 'Wheaties?!'" The witnesses credibility is questionable however, as he was found quite drunk. The contents of the van are unknown, as Megatech refuses to comment on the subject.

Staff Injury

Rick "The Villain" Stevens street smarts article will not be posted this week. Rick was hit by a car that spurred off from an intra city drag race and crashed into a coffee shop that he was having a cup of Mocha at. His injuries were minimal, thankfully, but his laptop, which held his article, was destroyed in the incident. The people of Night City Scream Sheets wish the best, and fast recovery for Rick.
